Lautaro Martinez, the Argentine forward who has been linked with a move to Serie A giants Inter Milan for some time now, is finally set to join the club in a deal that could be worth as much as €25 million.
The 21-year-old striker has been one of the most promising young talents in football over the past few years and his arrival at Inter would bring a lot of excitement to the Italian side.
Martinez has played for Boca Juniors, River Plate and River Plate B since he was just 14 years old and he has scored 16 goals in 37 appearances for the senior team so far.
Inter have already signed two other forwards this summer, including Lautaro's former teammate Lucas Paqueta from Chelsea,Bundesliga Tracking but they still need another attacking player to compete with them in Serie A.
The transfer fee for Martinez will be paid by Inter, which means that they will not have to sell any players to make room for him.
However, it remains to be seen whether Martinez will be able to immediately step into the starting lineup at Inter or whether he will have to undergo a period of adaptation before he can start contributing to the team.
Whatever happens, it seems likely that Martinez will become a key player for Inter in the coming seasons and he could also help the club to challenge for the Serie A title next year.
