Inter Milan have confirmed that Federico Dimarco has suffered a knee injury during training ahead of the upcoming match against Roma on Saturday.
The midfielder was replaced by Andrea Ranocchia in the second half of Tuesday's Serie A game against Sampdoria and will be out for several weeks with the injury.
Dimarco is one of Inter's key players and his absence could be a big blow to their chances of winning the league title this season.
The club have been hit by a number of injuries recently, including those to star striker Romelu Lukaku and defender Achraf Hakimi, who both missed last week's match against Napoli due to injuries.
Despite these setbacks, Inter are still in contention for the title and will hope to bounce back from this setback in their next match against Roma.
In other news,Serie A Stadium Inter have also confirmed that they have signed Italian forward Davide Santon from Lazio on loan until the end of the season.
Santon scored four goals in 16 appearances for Lazio last season and is expected to provide cover for Inter's strikers, particularly as they look to replace Romelu Lukaku, who has left for Manchester United.
